How it works

Wriblo, short for "writing blocks," turns letters into simple visual shapes.

Blocks

There are three basic block types: black, dotted, and white. The white blocks seamlessly blend into the background.

Letters

Each letter is built from three stacked blocks. For example the letter A is black, black, dotted from top to bottom.

Words

By connecting letters without spacing, each word forms a shape that is clear and easily readable to the human eye.

See it in action

One shape per word, not per letter.

Think of Wriblo like Japanese characters, but for English. It transforms words into visual patterns, where each word becomes a distinct, connected shape that is easy to recognize at a glance.
START FROM DAY 1

Adaptive Reader

Wriblo Reader helps you learn at your own pace. Begin with just a few blocks appearing in the text. Add more blocks as you grow comfortable.

What You Need to Know

Clear answers to help you get started.

Nope! All the current tools on the Wriblo website are free and open to everyone. We welcome you to give them a try and help shape what comes next.

Wriblo is for curious readers and early adopters, and anyone interested in new ways of reading and using language. It’s a beta, so no expertise needed; just bring an open mind.

Wriblo is still very new, but early feedback has been encouraging. People are trying it out, sharing helpful input, and helping us make it better. We don’t have enough data yet to measure how effective it is, but we’ll share results once we do.

Not really. Wriblo is easy to start using from day one. The adaptive reader mixes Wriblo with regular text, so you can begin reading right away. You decide how many Wriblo words to learn; there’s no set amount. Even learning just a few symbols can make reading feel smoother.

Wriblo currently supports English only, but more languages are coming soon. It works with any language that uses the 26 English letters, but special characters, accents, and non-Latin scripts aren’t supported yet. Expanding support is part of our future plans.

No! Wriblo works directly in your web browser without any downloads or installations. The symbols display using standard web technology, so they’ll work on any device with internet access.

We’re now developing apps for iOS and Android that will work better than the web version. Stay tuned!

Wriblo looks at the words you use most often in your text and suggests turning those into symbols. The more you use Wriblo, the better it gets at suggesting the right words for you.

Yes! You’re in complete control. Wriblo suggests which words to turn into symbols based on how often you use them, but you decide which ones to learn and which ones to skip.

Simply use the dictionary search function to locate any and add it to your dictionary with one click. This gives you the flexibility to prioritize words that matter most to your writing style, even if they’re not frequently used overall.

Wriblo is more than a reading tool—it’s a new visual language. Instead of just highlighting or reformatting text, Wriblo replaces selected words with simple, visual symbols. These symbols are easier for the brain to process, reducing mental effort and allowing you to read faster with less strain. As you continue using Wriblo, you’ll start recognizing these symbols faster than words—similar to how you instantly recognize icons or logos—leading to quicker reading and deeper comprehension. Over time, Wriblo helps you think visually and communicate more clearly and creatively. It’s fully under your control and ready to use from day one.

There’s no limit! You’re completely in control of the pace. Some users start with just a few symbols, while others jump in with dozens. Begin with whatever feels comfortable — you can always add or remove symbols later. For the best results, we recommend adding new symbols only after you’ve mastered the previous ones.

Yes! You can paste your own text into Wriblo to practice with content that interests you most. Whether it’s articles, stories, or work documents, practicing with familiar material can make learning feel more natural and engaging.

Wriblo only focuses on replacing words selected by the user — it doesn’t change punctuation or grammar. Periods, commas, and other punctuation marks stay exactly the same as regular text. Only individual words get converted to symbols.

No. Only letters. Numbers are already simple, universal symbols that your brain processes quickly, so Wriblo focuses on replacing words where visual symbols provide the most benefit.

Yes! You can print documents with Wriblo symbols just like regular text. The symbols will appear clearly on paper, so you can practice reading Wriblo offline as well.

You can paste articles, documents, or even entire books into Wriblo, but we recommend keeping text sizes manageable. Very large files may take longer to process or cause errors. For the best experience, work with smaller text sections at a time — you can always add more sections later.

No. Wriblo doesn’t use any lower or upper cases. All symbols appear the same regardless of the original text’s capitalization, which simplifies learning since you only memorize one symbol per word.

You can copy and paste text with Wriblo symbols. When you share it, recipients will see regular text unless they’re also using Wriblo. If they do use Wriblo, they’ll see the text displayed with their own symbol settings, which may be different from yours.

Reading with the Wriblo reader is already great practice. For extra learning, you can also use our typing tool to write Wriblo symbols on a grid pad. This helps reinforce your memory and build confidence.

In the beta version, our blog posts and articles are displayed as recommended pages by default. In the future, we plan to make recommendations more relevant by analyzing the words you frequently use.

Wriblo keeps track of the last 50 URLs you’ve visited. Each time you open a new page, your history is updated automatically. You can view your browsing history under the History tab in the reader menu.

You can mark any page as a favorite to easily find it later. Click the star icon in the toolbar to add a page to your favorites, or click it again to remove it. Your saved pages appear in the Favorites tab in the reader menu.
How do I suggest improvements or report issues? We’d love your feedback! Just click the Feedback button in the footer of any page while you’re logged in to share suggestions, report bugs, or request new features.
